Design Classes & Sewing Lessons



Our program teaches you how to create sewing patterns, learn sewing techniques, and design and craft with various materials.

About the Leather Workshop

In this 21-hour workshop, you'll learn to design and craft small leather accessories. Starting with a basic change purse design, you'll progress to creating a small bag that incorporates decorative elements while remaining practical and functional.
The wallet you’ll make is the perfect size for holding small cash, credit cards, or business cards, while the bag is just right for carrying an iPhone and other essentials.

Join us to learn the basics of leather-working, visual design, and functional craftsmanship in a fun, hands-on environment!

Bring the following supplies:

Lightweight sketching paper or sketchbook (9” x 12”)
Heavyweight paper (28” x 22”)
36”long metal ruler
6”shorter ruler
Small metal utility knife
Pencils Eraser
Sharpener
Small set of acrylic paints (for artwork on leather)
Small set of paintbrushes

About Sewing Class

You will learn how to sew in 12 hours. To lay the sewing pattern correctly on the material, Cut the material along with any additional stuffing or stabilizing liners or materials. You can adjust the cut material to fit your size correctly. Complete instruction on using the sewing machines.

Sewing Class Supplies

Enough fabric for your design, and consider getting rolled paper for making patterns if you want to learn pattern making, or you can choose to purchase the sewing pattern instead. Additionally, you will need a sewing machine and if you have a serger machine. Other necessary supplies include a box of ballpoint pins, fabric scissors, a small bar of soap for marking the fabric, iron-on fusible interfacing or stuffing if needed for your design, threads in the right colors, and any additional supplies like buttons, zippers, or the appropriately sized needles (11, 14, 16, or 18).

Textile Pattern Design

About Textile Pattern Design

For 12 hours, you will be taught how to create black-and-white designs on paper. Find inspiration and learn how to break it down into patterns. You will also learn to make continuous and closed designs and how to add colors to your black-and-white design using multiple techniques. At the end of the course, you will be able to print your favorite pattern on fabric at https://www.spoonflower.com/

Textile Pattern Design Class Supplies

10 standard copy paper (8.5 x 11 inches), one pad standard or larger tracing paper for drawing, H & B sketching pencils, an eraser, extra fine black V5 Precise rolling ball pen, black fine point Sharpie permanent marker, scissors, sharpener, ruler. Watercolor paper pad (29.7 x 21 cm or 11.7” x 8.3”), colored pencils minimum 12 colors, Art Chunky Colored Charcoal Set of minimum 12, watercolor paint minimum 12 colors. You are welcome to bring any medium that you prefer for coloring.

About Sewing Pattern Modeling

In 12 hours, you will learn To design your outfit for your chosen textile pattern, Understand your body proportions, Select materials, Model your dress sewing pattern, and Make your dream dress in our upcoming sewing class.

Sewing Pattern Modeling Supplies

Please bring a basic sewing pattern that fits your size and style, which we will modify into your designed dress, shirt, pants, etc….. You will also need to bring other essential supplies for the clothing, including tracing paper, pencils, erasers, coloring markers, scissors, sharpeners, and straight and triangle rulers.
